Enabling the "Send To" menu

If for some reason you are on a computer that has had its send to menu disabled and you have access to regedit then do the following to get it back in action:

Note: Please be carefull to do ONLY what is said here because if you delete or alter chunks of your registry then you will more than likely have to re-install windows.

  1. Click start, run, and type regedit. Click the ok button.
  2. Navigate to the following key:
       HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\
  3. You might see a Send To key already there, but if not then create one now by right clicking on the ContextMenuHandlers key and selecting New, Key and typing "Send To" (without the quotation marks). Press enter.
  4. This doesn't enable the Send To menu in itself, you need to add a CLSID value to the Default string to enable it. So double-click on the (Default) and paste this into it (this time do include the curly braces):

      {7BA4C740-9E81-11CF-99D3-00AA004AE837}

    If you wanted to disable the Send To menu then just clear this value or delete the Send To menu.
  5. You're done. Close regedit and right click on a file to see your newly restored Send To menu!
